What PCRWR and PSQCA certification mean

PCRWR

The Pakistan Council of Research in Water Resources (PCRWR) is a federal body under the Ministry of Science & Technology, and the national authority on drinking water quality research.

PCRWR keeps a list of bottled and mineral water brands that pass its independent quarterly testing against Pakistan's national drinking water standard (PS 4192), which follows the WHO Guidelines for Drinking-water Quality. A brand on that list has been verified by a third party, not self-certified.

PSQCA

The Pakistan Standards & Quality Control Authority (PSQCA) works under the Ministry of Industries & Production and enforces compulsory standards for products sold in Pakistan, including bottled and mineral water.

Manufacturers need a licence, renewed every year, showing compliance with PS 4192 (packaged natural mineral water) and PS 3299 (packaged drinking water). Licensing involves a factory inspection, a source water assessment and product testing. Amazon Beverages holds a valid PSQCA licence.
